Chanel Foster has been involved in the settlement industry for 3 years and followed along family’s footsteps in the business. Another social butterfly in the Prestige office, Chanel enjoys the close-knit office where she can bounce ideas and have discussions with the team. Ticking tasks off her to-do list, Chanel loves organisation and multitasking. Chanel’s routine paves the way for many goals, plans, and accomplishments, both in her personal and professional life.
In her role, she has learned to troubleshoot potential issues before it snowballs into something large. She can identify when something has an opportunity to turn pear-shaped, and jumps into problem-solving mode! Calls to banks, brokers, email trails, etc., to ensure clients can keep peace of mind.
As a self-starter, Chanel not only values hands-on and real-time training within the industry, but she also actively garners new knowledge to keep her settlement toolbox stocked. She pursues workshops around PEXA, continues her Diploma, and undergoes software training to ensure she is best equipped to handle a range of situations and processes.
Sharing her perspective, Chanel would advise anyone wanting to step into her role to remember, “Don’t panic when things feel overwhelming, give it a go, and don’t be afraid to ask questions! That is how you learn.” This is something she actively puts into practice herself; asking questions, even seemingly silly ones, brings knowledge and new skills.
Chanel carries many goals with her through her professional development: goals of completing her Diploma, continuing to grow her expertise in the industry, and building her confidence. Having followed her family’s footsteps in the industry already, Chanel feels incredibly inspired by her mother, Shelley Barber, and warmly describes her as a “resilient superwoman” whom she admires greatly.
At the end of the workday, Chanel steps back into her personal life. Outside of the Prestige Settlements office, you’ll find Chanel on new adventures with friends on the weekend, and enjoying time out at the pub. Quality time spent with family and friends is where she feels the most like herself; she finds joy in surrounding herself with the people who encourage her to push herself and make her dreams a reality.
Her free spirit, positive outlook on life, and dedication to her career aid her in maintaining a level head when the pressure is on; she feels proud of her resilience and ability to remain grounded.
